Very fine Empire style mantel regulator with half-hour striking, centre-seconds and thermometer, running for fifteen days.GiIt bronze "Portico" case, decorated with acanthus foliage, a dentilled frieze, tongue-and-dart moulding and bead-work, the columns with Corinthian captials. Hinged and glazed back and front bezels. Inset spirit level, silvered dial with engraved Roman numerals, inner and outer rings for minutes. Blued-steel Breguet hands with moon counterpoised centre-seconds. Circular brass momement with going barrels. Centre-mounted pin-wheel escapement with two jewels, micrometer screw adjustable anchor and jewelled pallets. Jewelled knife-edge suspended gilt-brass and steel half-second beating gridiron pendulum, the bob with silvered Reaumur thermometer and blued-steel arrow hand, the back engraved with details of the jewelling.
