Notes

The Spanish Princes at ValencayTalleyrand having suggested to Napoleon that it might be dangerous that the Bourbons remain sovereigns of a neighboring country, the Emperor put his brother Joseph on the Spanish throne, sending the king and princes into exile in 1808. Thus, don Ferdinand, don Carlos and their uncle don Antonio of Spain were the "hosts" of Talleyrand in the Château of Valencay from 1808 to 1814.This watch found its way back to Breguet, who had a policy of always buying back his watches. It was bought back from Mr. Pascal Rubio, renumbered as No. 450 and sold on January 6, 1845, to a Mr. Guntzberger.
