The Virgin and the Child"Breguet & Fils", Swiss, circa 1810.Fine silver watch with concealed enamel medallion portraying the Virgin and Child.
C. Three-body, "Empire", polished back, reeded band. D. Engine-turned gilt brass plate with a concealed spring-loaded compartment at the top covered by a silver medallion with a crown-topped shield with two crossed swords, held by two standing lions, which when opened reveals a painted-on-enamel medallion depicting the Virgin and Child, below a small enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, to the right and left two oval silver medallions with repoussé Cupids. Brass "spade" hans. M. 49 mm, hinged, gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement plain brass balance with flat balance-spring, continental cock.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 56 mm.
