Quarter-Repeater & Early Keyless Caudron, Elève de Breguet, Place Beauveau, No. 98, a Paris, movement No. 4534, case No. 5216. Made circa 1860. Very fine, 18K yellow gold, quarter-repeating, early keyless pocket watch with gold wheel train. To be sold without reserve
C. Four-body, ?bassine et filet?, engine-turned back cover, polished bezel, band and border, flat-topped winding crown. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved gothic "E&K" under an Earl?s coronet. D. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. M. 18.5???, maillechort, 31 jewels, the escape wheel pivot with gold jewel cap, wolf?s tooth winding, gold wheel train, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial and cuvette signed, case numbered. Diam. 46 mm.
