Denis Blondel quarter-repeating pocket watch Denis Blondel à Genève, No. 4095. Made for the Islamic market, circa 1830. Very fine and rare, 18K rose gold and painted on enamel, quarter-repeating pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement, gold Breguet-type chain and gold ratchet key decorated to match the watch.

Four-body, lobed with twelve segments decorated with painted on enamel flowers and trophies on a translucent opalescent ground, the segments between painted in imitaion of shagreen, the bezel decorated to match. D. White enamel with Islamic numerals, outer minute track. Gold Breguet hands. M. 19???, matte gilt, 8 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance, flat balance spring, index regulator with bimetallic temperature compensation curb, repeating with two polished steel hammers on two gongs activated by a pull-and-twist piston in the pendant. Cuvette signed. Diam. 55 mm.
