Breguet Indpendent Dead Seconds Breguet, Swiss, No. 2476. Made circa 1840. Fine, 18K rose gold, two-train independent dead-seconds pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement, gold chain and ratchet key.
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", No. 8577/44388, with engine-turned band, polished back. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/ dead seconds divisions. Gold Breguet hands. M. 46 mm. (21'''), frosted gilt, two-train, 10 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, parechute on the upper pivot, independent seconds with flirt mechanism acting on escape wheel pinion activated by a bolt at 5 o'clock, bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator. Cuvette signed, case punched CC within a lozenge. Diam. 51 mm.
