Breguet, Paris, No. 28037. Made for the Turkish market circa 1830. Very fine, and rare, early minute-repeating, 18K gold, keyless pocket watch.
C. Four-body, bassine, polished, the bezel with engine-turning, polished band, the back cover engraved in sun-ray pattern. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Turkish secret signature, Turkish numerals, outer minute track. Gold Breguet hands. M. 40 mm, matte gilt, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, plain three arm balance with parachute, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the button on the crown. Cuvette numbered. Diam. 50 mm.
