Chronomètre Solaire a Temps Moyen Ducommun, Elève de Breguet à Avignon, circa 1850. Very rare and interesting model of a highly precision sun dial.
Blackened metal base, small foot pivoted to the convex sun dial and calibrated in local latitude. Brass dial centered with 12 o?clock and nine hours to each side, the lower end equipped with a flat concave arm with an engraved analemma, also centrally pivoted. The light passing through a lens mounted on an arm across the analemma indicates the difference between the sun dial and the mean time. Signed on the sun dial convex plate. Dim. Height 30 cm, width 23 cm.
