THE HARP Austrian, the movement signed Breguet à Paris (Swiss). Made circa 1880. Very fine, Viennese, gilt-brass and painted on enamel table clock in the form of a harp.
C. Harp-form, the pillar with chased foliate brass terminals, hexagonal flower-painted enamel sections and a twisted black enamel section with gilt rope overlay, finial of a knight in armour, sound box painted on enamel with scenes of young couples in 18th century costume in landscapes, foliate engraved base hinged to reveal the dial, the base and sides with further painted on enamel scenes to match, cast scroll and paw feet. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2, foliate engraved gilt mask. Gilt hands. M. 47 mm., hinged gilt brass full plate with hexagonal pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece, silver regulation dial. Movement signed. DIM. 29.5 x 9 x 8.2 cm.
