Notes

Engraved on the case back: "Breguet - Marine Nationale - Aéronautique Navale - No 400" and the serial number. The French Armed Forces used this type of wristwatch for the Air Force, the Navy and the Ground Forces. All these chronographs were annually overhauled and their precision controlled by the Dodane company at the "Service Officiel de Contrôle de la marche des montres de Besançon (CETEHOR). On the back of the watch case were engraved the letters F.G. (Fin Garantie) along with the day, month and year of the renewable expiry date. The title "retour en vol" refers to the instantaneous fly-back feature of the chronograph work. A single push on the lower chronograph button zeros the chronograph hand while still in motion, which then restarts immediately, avoiding the need for the pilot to break concentration from the control of the plane.
