George Brown's new time indication device On the wandering-time system patented in 1926 by George-Henri Brown, the owner of the house Breguet, Paris - but also a graduate watchmaker of the horological school of Cluses (Haute-Savoie, France) -, the minutes are generally pointed to by an engine-turned arrow pierced with the aperture of the digital jumping hour volvelle. This invention is patented in different countries: - French invention paten.. 625 312, delivered on March 11, 1926, to Georges Brown, Paris, for a "Nouvel indicateur de temps (montre, horloge, pendule, etc.)". - Swiss invention paten.. 119 761, delivered on March 15, 1926, to Georges Brown, Paris, for a "Nouvel indicateur de temps (montre, horloge, pendule, etc.)". - US invention paten.. 1 628 946, delivered on April 19, 1926, to G. H. Brown, for a "Time Indication Device". In the present lot, the digital hour aperture jumps instantaneously every hour in order to reveal the followin.meral, which is on the fixed chapter ring beneath; the minutes are shown in the regular way with a "bâton" minute-hand.
