Notes

The watch was sold to M. Delaboire on November 1858, for the amount of 1 500 francs.

We would like to thank Mr. Emmanuel Breguet, Montres Breguet S.A., Vice President, Head of Patrimony, for kindly providing us with the above-mentioned historical information from the company’s Archives.

The ebauche was supply from Reclus, Paris; probably Pierre-Victor Reclus (1831-?), active since 1856. This talented young watchmaker and prolific inventor went on to become the head of a major watchmaking company and filed numerous patents for inventions relating to horology, the mechanical arts, electricity and other new sciences.
