L'Amour instruit l'Innocence. “Breguet & Fils”, Swiss, No. 8189, circa 1815. Fine and rare silver and gold pocket watch with painted on enamel decoration having a concealed erotic section.

Three-body, engraved band, hinged glazed bezels, the back cover painted on enamel with a scene representing Amor and Innocence, the back bezel with chased inner frame covering the erotic section of the enamel, the scene surmounted by a black banner inscribed “l'Amour Instruit l'Innocence”. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, eccentric winding hole. Blued steel Breguet hands.
