Notes

This watch was almost certainly specially designed for Louis Dollfus who, together with L. H. Dulles, was among the best clients of Breguet in the 1920?s. One of the most wealthy wine-grower of Algeria where he lived in the area of Tlemcen, Louis Dollfus was among the first to have a pilot?s licence, and was the owner of the first private hydroplane in Algeria. The chapter-ring of this watch, being reduced in size, allows the red tachometer scale to be enlarged so that it can be read at a glanceand accurately during the flight.
