Breguet, No. 4288, sold to Mr. Th. de Yermoloff on October 31, 1836, for 6'000 Francs. Very fine, elegant and extremely rare, slim 18K gold, early keyless, half quarter repeating, calendar watch with lever escapement and eccentric dial.

C. Three piece, "forme quatre bagetttes " engineturned, No. 158, by Leopold Secheret (Master Mark). D. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals on an eccentric chapter ring, offset sunk subsidiary seconds and date aperture above chapter "XII". Gold Breguet hands. M. Very thin, gilt brass, bar calibre with going barrel, counterpoised straight line lever escapement with draw, jewelled pallets and long lever, two arm bimetallic compensation balance, parechute suspension on both pivots, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Repeating on a single gong with one hammer striking on a steel intermediate spring block, the slide in the band. Very early stem winding system with knurled button on the pendant and knurled hand setting button in the band. Signed on the dial. Accompanied by Breguet certificate. Diam. 42 mm.

Begun in December 1823, this watch was completed between 1831 and 1833. When it was sold on October 31, 1836, for 6'000 Francs, this watch was among the most expensive ever sold by Louis-Clement-Francois Breguet, after the death of his grandfather.
