Breguet, Swiss, No. 8980, circa 1800. "Le Vice et la Vertu" Very fine and unusual 18K gold watch with concealed enamel painted erotic scene.
C. Three body, Directoire with concealed hinge, polished. A very finely painted enamel scene within a concealed compartment in the back, features a young maiden in a landscape, resisting the advances of a suitor. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals and outer minutes ring. Gold half-moon hands. M. Hinged gilt brass, slim I-lessen's calibre the barrel passing through the back plate, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Apocryphal signature on the dial and back plate. Diam. 53 mm.
