Notes
On June 26, 1801 - Messidor 7th in Year IX under the French Republican calendar - Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) was granted a ten-year patent by the relevant authorities for a new type of regulator known as the "Tourbillon." Building upon this legacy, the manufacture has continued to refine its expertise over the centuries.
In 1993, the reference 3355 was introduced in two basic versions, featuring either a yellow gold (3355BA) or platinum (3355PT) case. Between 2002 and 2003, the watch was updated with a modernized, skeletonized movement, the caliber 558 SQ1. Since then, the watches have been produced exclusively in platinum, with the gold version discontinued. One of the key features of the updated caliber is the redesigned tourbillon carriage, which now incorporates three equidistant radial spokes and a traditional Genevan-style fixing cap for the hairspring's outer coil, secured with two screws but without a side fixing screw. The absence of a regulator index allowed the movement to feature a free-sprung balance, once again utilizing the iconic Breguet hairspring.
This evolution demonstrates how the manufacture has continually adapted its production over time, renewing its offerings while perpetually refining its craftsmanship.
