Breitling Chronomat Limited Edition – Royal Air Force Hong Kong Breitling, "Chronomat Royal Air Force Hong Kong 1924- 1997", No. 70/97, Ref. A 13050.1. Made in a limited edition of 97 examples in 1997 to commemorate the end of the Royal Air Force Hong Kong Squadron. Fine, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with date, round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and an 18K yellow gold Breitling buckle. Accompanied by a Breitling box. To be sold without reserve

Three-body, polished, screwed-down protected windingcrown, screwed-down case back with embossed map of Asia, unidirectional revolving bezel with engraved minute graduation and quarter-hour riders, luminous dot at 12, sapphire crystal. D. Black with luminous baton indexes, minute and 1/5th seconds divisions, subsidiary guilloché dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outermost tachometer scale, the Royal Air Force Hong Kong logo, aperture for the date at 3. Luminous yellow gold baton hands. M. Cal. based Valjoux 7750, rhodium-plated, 25 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shockabsorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator, hack mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 15 mm.

The Royal Hong Kong Air Force came into existence in 1949 as part of the Hong Kong Defence Force. From 1949 to 1950, it was known as HKAAF and the Royal title was approved by King George VI in 1951. The RHKAAF was based at Kai Tak Airport from 1979 to 1993, with a sub-station at Sek Kong Airfield.
