Notes

A similar watch is published in “Breitling” by Benno Richter, p. 131. Navitimer. Trademark registered in La Chaux-de-Fonds on February 26, 1955. “Chrono-Matic”, the first self-winding Navitimer, was launched in 1969. It was patented together with the manufacturers Dubois et Dupraz SA. The design of this watch required the winding-crown to be moved to the “9” position, which at first seemed like a surprising innovation. Since this watch does not often need to be manually wound, it follows that the chronograph buttons would be better located on the right side of the case.
