Notes

A similar watch is published in Breitling by Benno Richter, p. 131. Navitimer. Trade-mark registered in La Chaux-de-Fonds on 26 February 1955. "Chrono-Matic", the first self-winding Navitimer was launched on the market in 1969, patented together with the manufacturers Dubois et Dépraz SA. The design of this watch required that the winding-crown had to be moved to the position of the 9, at first what seems like a surprising innovation that was agreed to be the best. Since obviously this watch does not often need to be wound up by hand, then it follows that the chronograph buttons would be better located on the right side of the case.
