Breitling Genève, "Navitimer Chrono-Matic", Ref. 1806, Pat. No 11525/67. Produced in the 1970's. Fine, large, octagonal, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, telemeter, slide-rule and date, with the winding-crown on the 9 and the chronograph pushers on the 2 and on the 4.

C. three-body, polished and brushed, revolving reeded and graduated black and white bezel, screwed-down case back with logo, lapidated lugs. D. black and "guilloché" matte silver with tritium-coated Arabic numerals and indexes, auxiliary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register, outer graduations for the minutes, the telemeter and the slide-rule, and the 1/5th second scale, aperture for the date in red Arabic numerals. "Bâton" tritium-coated white hands. M. Cal. 12, gilt brass, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, microrotor housed in the basic movement. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 49 mm.

Notes

A similar watch is published in "Breitling" by Benno Richter, pp. 53, 121 and 122. Navitimer Chrono-Matic Trademark registered in La Chaux-de-Fonds on 26 February 1955. "Chrono-Matic", the first self-winding Navitimer was launched in 1969. The design of this watch required that the winding-crown be moved to the position of the 9. Since this watch does not need to be wound by hand, it follows that the chronograph buttons are better located on the right side of the case.
