Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 860231, case No. 295442, Ref. 96, produced in 1936 and sold in 1940, especially made for Mr. Bulova, presented to J.M. Strauss by the employees on November 4, 1940. Extremely fine and rare, small, astronomic, platinum gentleman's wristwatch with triple date and moon phases at twelve o'clock, with fitted box and certificate.

C. massive, polished, satined, dedicated back. D. mat silver with applied platinum indexes and Arabic numerals + auxiliary seconds dial, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the lunations, "Bâton" platinum hands. M. 11', rhodiumed, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 8 positions, self-compensating flat balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. In excellent condition. Diam. 30 mm.

A similar watch is published in "Patek Philippe Wristwatches", page 211. This watch with Ref. 96 (Calatrava) in platinum was produced in only 3 examples. The two others were sold by Gübelin in 1940.
