Notes

These rare intricate and decorative travel watches were made at the height of the Art Deco period as an elegant way of telling time without having a wristwatch. Often called "purse watches" due to the fact that most lady's at that time did not wear wristwatches, these Cartier travel clocks are known as "guillotine" due to the dial being concealed and revealing the dial by depressing the sides. Made in a variety of case decorations and colours, intricate models such as this one combining beautiful red, white and black enamel are exceedingly rare.
