"Paysage Oriental" Cartier, Paris, "Pendule de bureau" No. 220931, Made in 1986. Very fine and rare 18K gold (12g), silver (298.3g), lacquer, mother-of-pearl, and rock crystal, diamond-set (158 brilliant-cut totaling 1.37cts) 8-day going Art Deco style strut clock. Accompanied by its original red leather fitted box and a letter from Cartier.
C. Gadrooned square circular rock crystal case with canted corners, mother-of-pearl inlayed silver gilt chapter ring with diamond-set gold double baton indexes, silver gilt case back with rock crystal strut. D. Black lacquer with abalone shell marquetry inlay depicting a Japanese garden with figures and a house in the foreground and a lake and mountains in the background. Diamond-set hands. M. Gilt 19??? movement, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Case and movement signed. Dim: 16.5 x 16.5 cm
