Cartier, France, No. 1001, circa 1935. Very fine black marbel and lapis lazuli 18-carat gold and enamel mounted time-piece in a red leather fitted case.
Square black marbel case the lapis lazuli face with an engine turned gold frame, the bezel with a white "champlevé" enamelled decoration. Gilt engine-turned dial with Roman numerals. Diamond set "arrow" hands. Eight day going European Watch & Clock Co. movement, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. In very good condition. Dim. 59 x 59 x 18 mm.
