Montre de Bureau Cartier, Paris, No. 270. Made by European Watch and Clock Co. Inc., France, circa 1920. Fine, agate, gold, champleve enamel, sapphire and rose-cut diamond-set gilt brass, 8-day going desk clock.

Square, polished agate, gold bezel decorated with engraved stylised foliage on a white champleve enamel ground, each corner set with a cabochon sapphire in a gold mount, gilt brass drum case for the movement with hinged strut. D. Matte silver with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, the center with sunray engine-turned decoration. Rose-cut diamond-set arrow hands. M. 43 mm., rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, index regulator. Dial signed Cartier, case numbered and signed European Watch and Clock Co. Inc. Dim. 7.4 cm. square.
