Montre de Bureau Cartier, France, No. 4263/1. Made by the European Watch and Clock Co., France, circa 1930. Fine, square black onyx, yellow gold and gilt brass, 8-day going desk clock with alarm. Accompanied by a fitted Cartier box.
C. Square, polished black onyx, gold bezel, gilt brass drum case for the movement with hinged strut. D. Matte gilt, luminous bold Arabic numerals, outer minute track, inner alarm setting divisions. Gold and red lacquer arrow and pear hands. M. 47 mm., rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, index regulator, alarm sounding on a coiled gong. Dial signed Cartier, case numbered and signed European Watch and Clock Co. Dim. 9.2 cm square.
