Notes

The dial of these clocks can only be seen from a certain angle; from the back the clock appears to be empty. This is acheived by means of mirrors and crystal prisms, as in a periscope, for example. These pieces were originally made by Gaston Cusin (1937 patent). A similar clock is illustrated in ?Le Temps de Cartier?, by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti and Franco Nencini, page 186.
