CARTIER ? ROPE LUGS Cartier, France, No. 1853, made circa 1940. Fine and unusual 18K yellow gold lady's wristwatch with backwind movement.
C. Two-body, solid, polished, sloped bezel, lugs the length of the case in the shape of ropes, winding crown on the back, back affixed by two screws and crown. D. Silver with painted black radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel épée hands. M. Circle shaped, rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance with gold screws, flat steel balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed Cartier, case and movement signed European Watch and Clock Co. Dim 23 x 25 mm. Thickness 7 mm.
