Cartier, No. 53536. Made circa 1970. Fine and rare, 18K gold and enamel square wristwatch with an 18K gold deployant clasp.
C. Two-body, square with rounded corners, straight lugs, the bezel with reeded decoration and blue enamel outer border, back secured by four screws and engraved with initials ?CJP?, octagonal winding crown set with a faceted blue sapphire. D. White with radial Roman numerals, inner minute track. Blued steel tapered baton hands. M. 9 ½???, rhodium plated, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to three positions, self-compensating fl at balance spring, shock absorber, micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed Cartier, case and clasp punched EJ for Edmond Jaeger. Dim. 27 mm square. Thickness 5 mm.
