Cartier, Paris, circa 1910. Very fine and rare Art Déco 18K gold keyless minute-repeating ?shutter? dress watch, accompanied by two-tone gold chain.
C. Three-piece, polished back, reeded band with milled slot for the slide, front with central aperture for two shutters controlled by the push-piece in the crown revealing the dial. D. Matte engine-turned silver, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 38 mmø (17???), frosted gilt, 29 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring, repeating on gongs, slide on the band. Signed on the dial, case punched with Edmond Jaeger?s mark and French gold marks. Diam. 47 mm.
