CARTIER GOLD SHUTTERED PURSE WATCH Cartier Paris, ?Montre de sac à guillotine?, No. 60035/21651. Made circa 1930. Fine and very rare, 18K gold and enamel keyless purse watch with concealed shuttered dial.

Rectangular with two polished gold panels with a black champlevé enamel monogram, retracting by pressing the spring-loaded cabochon-sapphire-set case ends to reveal the dial, the body of the case with reeded decoration, polished sides with four screws, black champlevé enamel Roman numerals on a polished chapter ring flanked by a row of three raised pyramidal studs on each side. D. White, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 22 mm (10???), matte gilt, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed, case numbered and punched with the mark EJ in a lozenge for Edmond Jaeger. DIM. 38.5 x 42 mm.
