Armin Strom, B. 1938Bergdorf/Bern, Switzerland is home to Armin Strom, artisan of original custom-made watches. Upon completing his studies as a watchmaker, Armin Strom first began specializing in the restoration of antiques watches. A skilled craftsman, his ability to reproduce missing wheel trains and broken parts soon allowed his reputation as a watchmaker to flourish.Over ten years ago, Strom produced his first watch with his name on the dial. It was a pocket watch featuring a perpetual calendar which he decorated and modified. One of his clients fell in love with the piece as soon as he saw it, and bought it that very same day.Strom specializes in the manufacture of unique pieces. He is particularly well known for his hand skeletonized and engraved wristwatches and pocket watches with complications which he modifies according to his client’s wishes. He is also well known for producing ladies’ jewelry watches with decorated movements. Today, Strom has built up a clientele of watch collectors and enthusiasts who contact him from all over the world.Strom exhibits annually at the Basel Fair where he always introduces a new piece.
