CARTIER NEPHRITE, GOLD, ENAMEL & DIAMOND DESK CLOCK Cartier, "Montre de Bureau", No. 1257/2362. Made circa 1915. Extremely fine and very rare, nephrite, gold, platinum, enamel and diamond-set, 8-day going desk clock.

Square polished nephrite with inset corners and beveled edges, each corner set with a large rose-cut diamond in a platinum "sun" setting, gilt-brass clock case with hinged strut. Yellow gold chapter ring mounted on the case with radial Roman numerals and flowerhead markers, inner minute dot markers, white champlevé enamel ground, the center with a glazed panel of opalescent sunray guilloche enamel. Rose- cut diamond-set platinum hands. 19''', matte gilt, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case numbered. DIM. 74 mm. Square.
