The scene depicted on the central large hair brush is take from Jaan-Antoine Watteau's "Embarkation of Cythera" painted in 1717 and now in the Musee du Louvre. The art movement "Fete Galante" is associated with Watteau's paintings depicting the change of attitude and lifestyle of French aristocrats at the time.
