Roll Top ?Cantine Automobile? Cartier, Paris, circa 1920. Very fine and rare mahogany and gold nécessaire set fitted with a eight day-going watch and designed as a roll-top desk.

C. Tambour, with gold opening handle, front panel fitted with a watch and inlaid with gold frame, hanging brackets in the back panel, sliding roll top reveals two scent containers and one jar with gold hinged domed covers, the scent containers with gold stoppers, tortoiseshell comb, tortoiseshell-framed mirror, silk-covered notebook with gold pen and two silk pouches. D. Silvered and matte, Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, center engine-turned in radial pattern. Diamond-set hands. M. 42.8 mm (19''', frosted gilt, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring.Signed on the dial.Dim. Width 24 cm, height 14 cm
