Cartier, Paris, Santos-Dumont, No. 45/50. Produced in a limited edition of 50 examples, sold on January 24, 1998, following the 150th anniversary of Cartier in 1997. Very fine and rare, square, extra-flat, platinum gentleman's wristwatch with leather strap and 18K white gold Cartier deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted box and certificate.

C. two body, solid, polished and brushed, polished bezel fixed with 8 pins, back fixed with four screws on case band, sapphire-set winding-crown, flat sapphire crystal. D. "guilloché" silvered with painted radial Roman numerals, concentric, the letters "S.A.N.T.O.S. D.U.M.O.N.T" representing the 12 hours. Blued steel "épée" hands. M. Cal. 9' ' signed Cartier, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 27 x 36 mm.
