Cartier, "Tank Américaine", Ref. 1726, No. 64/97. Produced in a limited edition of 97 examples in 1997 to commemorate the return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule. Very fine and rare, rectangular curved, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K white gold gentleman's wristwatch with date and an 18K white gold Cartier deployant clasp. Accompanied by a fitted box and certificate.

C. two-body, solid, polished and brushed, case back with screws and engraved "Hong Kong 1997", sapphire-set winding-crown, curved sapphire crystal. D. "guilloché" champagne with painted radial Roman numerals and applied pink gold Arabic numerals on the 7 and 9, aperture for the date. Blued steel "Epée" hands. M. Cal. 077, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 25 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 23 x 41 mm.
