"Pendule Japonaise" Cartier, case made by European Watch & Clock Co., circa 1925. Fine silver and painted on enamel timepiece decorated in imitation of Oriental laquer. Accompanied by original Cartier hexagonal green and gold tooled case and two keys.

Two-piece, elongated hexagonal, ends decorated with orangeand black champleve enamel stripes, the front panel painted tosimulate laquer with gold and pale blue enamel with a Japanesescene and wisteria blossoms, similarly decorated back withshuttered holes for winding, hand-set and regulation, chamferedtop decorated to match the body, ball finial, hexagonal chamfer-edgedblack onyx base. D. Ivory, rectangular with applied giltRoman numerals, outer minute markers.
