Cartier Paris, No. 1215-8770-4549, circa 1910. "Montre Gouvernail", 18K pink gold and enamel, keyless sapphire-set dress watch, specially made for the "Westward" Kiel regata in 1910.

Three piece, massive, the bezel with a blue champleve enamelled line, the band set with eight sapphire cabochons, the back decorated with a blue champleve enamelled helm, the centre marked: "Westward". D. Matted gold with Arabic numerals, the centre with enamelled flags and the inscription; "Kiel 1910, R.P.R. from A.S.C." Blued steel "Breguet" hands. M. Gilt brass, 18"', 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, eight adjustments, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 50 mm.
