Probably unique and extremely rare, silver, enamel and agate, 8-day going, key-winding, vertical rectangular-shaped, pre-Art Deco minuscule carriage-clock (so-called “mignonette”), given to one of their guests, whose first name begins with the letter 'E', by Albert and Miriam de Rothschild to celebrate their wedding on December 15, 1910.
Silver cabinet with Vieux-rose (light-rose) flinqué enamel (translucent enamel over guilloché engine-turning) décor; the side panels each with a rose-cut diamond in their centres; the top panel with the cypher "E" in a diamond rose-cut pattern; the glass bezel in gold and white enamel; the base in agate.
Silver guilloché (engine-turned) dial with radial indexes formed by the letters of the first names "MIRIAM" and "ALBERT"; rose-cut diamond-set “Fantasy Arrow” silver hands.
Movement, 35.5 x 23.1 x 11.1 mm. (including low-plate), rectangular, gilded-brass, going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index-regulator.
