It also reflects Cartier's ability to treat the case itself as a piece of design, with proportion and line taking precedence over unnecessary ornament. Its 23 x 46 case deserves particular attention. Executed in platinum, the exterior gives the piece a distinctive tactile and visual presence. Seen from the front, the geometry frames the dial with precision; in profile, the construction reveals the considered transitions that give the watch much of its character. It is paired with leather with an 18k white gold and diamond deployant clasp, extending the design beyond the case itself.
