Notes

Hergé (Georges Prosper Remi 1907-1983) was born in Brussels and became world famous when he created his cartoon "Tintin" revolving around a boy reporter and his dog "Milou" (snowy in English). In 1950 he founded Hergé Studios that helped him create the famous series of Tintin adventures. He is without a doubt the most famous Belgian cartoon artist ever.

Josette Baujot (1920-2009) was the chief colorist of Studios Hergé from 1954 to 1979. She worked on various Tintin adventures such as "Les Cigares du pharaon" and coloured the famous red and white rocket in the album « On a marché sur la Lune ». She was also responsible for creating the famous Hergé greeting cards that are very sought-after at auctions.

The watch was a gift from Hergé to Josette and coincides with her retirement in 1979.
Please note that the "Tintin" rocket is for illustration purposes only and will not come with the watch.
