This exceptionally special Cartier Tri-Color Vendome watch is believed to be owned by Georgina Rizk, Miss Universe 1971. It is a model that is hardly ever seen at previous auctions. We were told by the consignor that the seller of this watch knows Georgina Rizk in person. Cartier produced the watch in mechanical version, with 18K tri-color gold and in a larger case size to suit her. Thus, we believe that this watch is possibly made by request for Georgina Rizk.
In our best knowledge, the Cartier Tri-Colour Vendome during that era was made in quartz and in plated gold materials.
The combination of the classic Cartier Vendome case design with the intricate tri-color gold construction and the fully paved diamond dial makes this watch truly one-of-a-kind. Cartier was known for its innovative use of different gold tones in the same watch, but this level of diamond setting across the entire dial surface is an extraordinary and uncommon feature. It is customized by Cartier for Georgina Rizk.
