Galuchat - Shagreen
Material from the skin of cartilaginous fish. The ray is coarse-grained. The shark is small-grained. The process of refining the material was developed in the 18th century by Jean-Claude Galluchat (Lyon, 1689 - Paris, 1774), a master grain-maker, to which he gave his name.
