GRANDJEAN MINUTE REPEATER & CHRONOGRAPH PINK GOLD Charles Grandjean, Locle, 1895, case No. 1895. Made circa 1895. Very fine, minute-repeating, hunting-cased, keyless 18K pink pocket gold watch with chronograph.

Four-body, "bassine et filets", solid, polished, the front cover with applied foliate monogram, olive- shaped button at 12 for the start/stop and return-to-zero functions of the chronograph. Hinged gold cuvette engraved "Souvenir 1er Janvier 1896", glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost fifths of a second chronograph divisions calibrated to 300 units, subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel poire hands. Cal. 19''', rhodium plated, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
