Notes

Elizabeth Taylor Since her first film brought her to the world's attention in 1942, Elizabeth Taylor has held an irresistible hold on the public's imagination and affection. An actress of uncommon natural gifts, she has created a wide-ranging body of work that includes some of the most memorable movies in film history- and some of the most memorable performances. Long a quiet activist for a variety of causes, she has become a vocal and eloquent voice in the fight against AIDS- and against the indifference towards AIDS sufferers that her own highly visible compassion has helped to break clown. As a businesswoman, she has launched a phenomenally successful line of fragrances, including "Passion", "White Diamonds", and "Black Pearls". Elizabeth Taylor has received the Life Achievement Award of the American Film Institute for her work on screen. She was nine years old when she made her first Hollywood film "There's one born every minute" in 1942. Among her other film credits are "National Velvet " , "Little Women" , "Father of the Bride", "Ivanhoe", "Giant", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", and "Cleopatra " . Taylor received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her ongoing acts of benevolence towards others. For her business efforts, her signature fragrance "White Diamonds", has become a bestseller. Through it all, and in the face of fierce public scrutiny, her strength, grace, talent, beauty, and passion have won her the heart and minds of people over the world. And all over the world, the name Elizabeth Taylor evokes the image of a supremely gifted actress, a fighter, a survivor, a savvy businesswoman, and a passionate humanitarian, Hers has been and continues to be a career of distinction, and a life of triumph.
