LE COULTRE & CO. WATCH WITH 7 COMPLICATIONS LeCoultre & Co., "Chronomètre de Précision, Répétition à Minutes, Chronographe, Quantième Perpetuel, Phases de Lune", No. 10024, retailed by Ch. Courvoisier, 29 rue Richer, Paris. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, large and heavy 18K pink gold, minute- repeating, keyless, hunting cased pocket watch with perpetual calendar, chronograph, moon phases and age.
Four-body, "bassine et filets", massive, polished, sprung front cover with an applied gold foliate monogram. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details, glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and fifths of a second chronograph divisions, Arabic five second numerals calibrated to 300 units, subsidiary dials for the date, days of the week, the months with leap-year cycle and seconds, moon phase aperture with moon's age on the border. Blued steel spade hands. 20"', rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, wolf's tooth winding, 36 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, visible chronograph work, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Movement signed beneath the hour hammer, cuvette signed by the retailer.
