Notes

Antiquorum is proud to present this important Daniel Roth Perpetual Calendar Moon Phase (reference 118.L.40) in 18K yellow gold. It features the iconic Ellipsocurvex double-ellipse case with a diamond-set bezel. Produced circa 2000–2001 and faithful to Daniel Roth’s original design, the watch displays a silver guilloché “ligne” dial with black Roman numerals, moon phase at 12 o’clock, and distinctive “guichets” (windows) for day and month indications.

The perpetual calendar complication was co-developed by Daniel Roth with the legendary independent master Philippe Dufour. Dufour helped adapt and modify the base movement (initially Lemania 8810 for the first models, later GP-based for the 118 series) to perfectly fit Roth’s dial layout and Ellipsocurvex case, working on the gear train, day/month displays, leap-year integration, and the instantaneous jumping mechanism — a true meeting of two masters of traditional Swiss watchmaking. The exhibition caseback reveals the finely finished automatic calibre DR.114 with its hand-guilloché gold rotor.

Here is a rare and extraordinary opportunity to acquire an important horological masterpiece born from the legendary collaboration of two titans of independent watchmaking: Daniel Roth and Philippe Dufour.
