The case in the form of a young nubian riding an ass, painted enamel eyes, patinated bronze head and arms, gilt costume, the clock housed within the body of the ass with gilt bezel, rectangular gilt base with applied cherub, bird and flower mounts, turned feet. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Gilt Directoire hands. M. Circular flat-bottomed plates, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, silk suspension, pendulum with brass bob, outside countwheel striking on a bell. DIM. 40 x 27.5 x 12.5 cm.
